Drain tray be gone!

I hated our drain tray. It was constantly stained and the idea of putting clean dishes in something dirty to finish drying was grossing me out. 

My sis-in-law introduced me to drying mats. 5 bucks at Jysk and can be thrown in the washer/dryer. Yes please!

August Fun

August was fun! 

• We went to Kingston for an extended long weekend. Festivities included a BBQ, some swims, the family reunion, a family birthday party for Nicholas, bowling and lots of visiting.
• We checked out a new park (to us) in Elmira with friends.
• Play Group started. We visit and have a potluck lunch. It's great!
• We had several barbeques (including our Deck party) and lots of visits with friends during the week.
• Nathan had his 2 month needles.
• Nick turned 3 and Dan turned 33. We had a yummy Norris bakery cake with the G's on Dan's birthday.
• Nick's soccer wrapped up for the season.
• I went to another Stars and Strollers. (The Giver)
• I had a visit with the girls (minus one) sans kids.
• We participated in the Kitchener Kids with Cancer Run and Walk. 
• We checked out the Busker's Festival
• We traveled to Courtice for a family get together.

Cheerio Goodness

I tried out a new recipe I found on Pinterest.

1. Melt 1/4 cup of butter on the stove
2. Mix in 3/4 cup of peanut butter (or even more!)
3. Mix in 40 large marshmallows. After it is nice and melty, take it off the heat. 
4. Stir in 3 cups of cheerios until nice and coated.
5. Press into a square cake pan. 
6. Top with a handful of chocolate chips while still warm so that they melt a bit.
7. Chill, cut and serve!

Italia Baby!

My favourite pajama of all time...

Both boys fit this around the 3 month mark. Nicholas was just chunkier and filled it out more :)

This is the picture that freaks me out the most. It's Nicholas but it could easily be Nathan. They look like twins when they are asleep!

Family Reunion Flashbacks

My family hosts a family reunion every Civic long weekend. We've only made 2 in the last 5 years due to honeymoons, due dates etc.

Living is easy in July

Let's have a look back...

• We had a Canada Day picnic at RIM park. We also went to see the fireworks at UW. This was Nick's 1st fireworks show!
• We went to the family day at PTC. Nick loved the bouncy castle!
• My cousin and Aunt came up to babysit the boys so we could head out for a solo dinner to celebrate our fifth anniversary. So nice!
• We went to a BBQ and had several lunches and play dates with friends.
• I had coffee with my friend/co-worker E. I love getting out solo when I can!
• I went to my first "Stars and Strollers" with Nathan. I only managed to go twice when I was on mat leave with Nicholas. I need to do this more!
• We took Nicholas to the Brantford Zoo. He loved it! 
• We worked on toilet training Nick. Groan.
• The Hunt's came to Waterloo and we had a nice visit/dinner and I finally got to meet little C!
• We went to the Serbian Food Festival. Yum!
• I went with both boys to D's Half birthday party. Time is flying!
