Sunday mornings we enjoy bigger breakfasts. Today I made some banana pancakes. The kids ate first and then Dan and I sat down to eat some.
Nathan decided to join us.
Step 1: Nathan is watching me smile for the camera.
Step 2: Nathan eyes my pancake.
Step 3: Reach in for it while still keeping an eye on Mommy.
Step 4: Reach for it with full attention.
Step 5: Got it!

I'm not going to lie, I find these Winter months a bit dreary. We made the most of it though!
In January...
- We went to the M's for a play date and lunch. So nice to catch up and let the kids play hard! We went on a date night with them later in the month too. Always a fun time!
- Soccer Tots started for both boys! And we went sledding a few times!
- Illness hit the house.
- Nick and I went to his school for a movie night. (but didn't actually stay until the end lol)
- We went to the G's for dinner. Yum!
- E came over for a visit one Friday night. Lovely!
- I was busy working on report cards!
- Tonight we are off to the C's for dinner! So nice to catch up and beat the winter blahs!

I'm feeling nostalgic today. Over a pair of toddler shoes. There is nothing fancy about these shoes. They are Joe Fresh shoes and weren't expensive.
But they fit both boys perfectly. As most of you know, Nathan is a lot smaller than Nick was. But for some reason they fit both boys really well.
They are like the shoe version of the Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants.
The velcro no longer sticks and the treads are worn. Rest in peace my favourite toddler shoes. Thanks for the memories!

Here is a new addition to our main floor bathroom/laundry room:
I love it! Dan's dresser has been housing all our medicine. I'm glad to have it all organized and out of reach to a certain busy toddler. I'll post another update when our vanity is complete. We ordered a new counter top and it's not in yet. Stay tuned!

I can't believe December is coming to a close, let alone 2015!
In December...
- We went to the O's Christmas party and hosted one here as well.
- Dan and I had a date night to see the play Aladdin.
- Nick went on a field trip to see Aladdin and my class went on a field trip to Benjamin Tree Farm.
- I went to my staff party and out with my soccer team to celebrate the season.
- I went for my annual dinner to Ennio's with M and K.
- Nathan had his 18 month shots.
- Swimming wrapped up for Nick.
- We traveled to Kingston for an amazing Christmas!
- We saw Star Wars!
- I had a coffee date with my friend E.
- The B's are coming for New Years Eve tonight!
Wishing everyone an amazing 2016! I'm going to continue reducing carbs (my vice) and I'm determined to read more for fun.
Xo,
Meg,
It's been a while since I shared a craft or teaching activity so here is a super easy craft to wrap up the Christmas season. Pun intended!
You will need:
- A variety of ribbon (greens/reds/whites) cut a variety of lengths
- Scissors
- Thick twigs
- Twine/string
- Glue gun
All you do is tie the strings around the twig and leave spaces in between. Make sure the shortest ones are at the top and then they get longer as they go down. You can trim with scissors afterwards. Then glue on the string/twine with hot glue. This would make a great home made gift! I may keep this in mind for next year!

Meg
