February, short and mostly sweet!

How did we keep busy?

  • I went to the dentist. And started seeing my OB.
  • The Super Bowl party we normally go to was cancelled so we hosted Cooper and his parents. It also gave us a chance to meet his little brother. I forget babies start out that small!
  • I went to a guest speaker about Raising Resilient Children that was held at my school. Really interesting!
  • We got hit with snow, snow and more snow!
  • We went for Pizza night and a play date at the O'Leary house. Nick loved it! He also slept in the next morning which made Mommy and Daddy happy!
  • We continued to work on organizing the baby room and the basement. Nesting seems to be happening for both of us!
  • We ordered a new couch and 2 accent chairs for our living room. The couch has arrived! Now the hunt for tables continues.
  • We didn't really celebrate Valentine's Day but my hubby did surprise me with a lovely new plant. See below.
  • We went to G's for a yummy dinner and play date on the long weekend!
  • We also checked out Winterloo. We walked around looking at snow sculptures and kids skating and then grabbed lunch at a new pizza place in Uptown Waterloo called Famoso. Yummy but VERY expensive.
  • Nick got a much needed haircut. Just in time for picture day!
  • Illness hit in the form of croup and an ear infection. Spring can't come soon enough!
  • I had a coffee date with a teaching friend.
Now that I put it all in writing, this was a busy month! Bring on March and the start of Spring! I can't bend over to do boots and snow pant liners anymore!

Superheroes

I wanted to get something special for Nick's room since a lot of his stuff will be moving into the baby room.

So I ordered him a print on Etsy. They had so many variations but his walls are light blue so I thought this one would look good.

Original
After being framed
I already had the frame kicking around so I just trimmed it up and boom! Ready to be hung. Dan has some jobs to do this coming weekend :)

O is for Octopus

This week we did the letter "O" at school. What better way to celebrate this letter than by making an orange octopus out of an empty TP roll?! Thank you Pinterest yet again!

January!

January was a cold one but we tried to keep busy!

  • We had an impromptu playdate with Lia on New Year's Day! Gotta keep toddlers busy!
  • I grabbed tea with a teaching friend before going back to work after Christmas holidays. It's nice to unwind!
  • Nicholas started in the Pre-school room. His first drop off brought tears but we haven't seen them since. He is such a big boy!
  • Speaking of boys, we found out we are having another little boy! We can't wait!
  • We had a girly dinner before Courtney becomes a mommy again. It was lovely to hang out without the kiddos! Ps: Her new little man arrived on Jan 27th!
  • We hosted the monthly playdate
  • I finally got around to having a pre-natal massage. Heavenly!
  • We had the G's over for home made lasagna. Yum-o!
  • I did some organizing/donating/purging around the house.
  • I was busy writing report cards. Whew! Thank-goodness that is done!
  • I scored a 2nd hand bed rail for Nick. 10.00!
  • My inlaws came for a visit. We went to St. Jacob's, enjoyed some home made cannelloni and installed a new range hood! Nick loves having extra people to entertain him!
  • We finally tried out Nick's new sled as it has been way too cold for the majority of the month!

Let's hope we get outside a little more in February. We are off to a Super Bowl Party today!
